Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tlauberdi said preparations were under way for a new round of Astana talks on the crisis in Syria in the Kazakh capital Nur Sultan this month.
"The plans for the meeting are in place, and we are ready for it, and we are awaiting official confirmation of its date," Tlaobrady said in remarks carried by Russia.
The guarantors of the Astana process (Russia, Iran and Turkey) announced in the final statement of the 13th round of the Astana talks, which took place on the first and second of August in Nur Sultan that the next round of talks will be in October.
The Astana meetings began in early 2017 and held 13 meetings in Astana format, one of them in the Russian city of Sochi, and stressed in its entirety the firm commitment to preserve the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria and to continue the war on the terrorist organizations until it is finally defeated.
