From the Umayyad Square in Damascus, about 1,000 volunteers from civil societies and initiatives participated in the launch of the national campaign for the early detection of breast cancer organized by the National Cancer Control Committee throughout October.
The volunteers represent organizations and organizations, including the Syrian Secretariat for Development, the Syrian Youth Footprint, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, family planning associations, Noor Relief, Dew, the International Junior Chamber and the Ecumenical Relations and Development Department.
The National Campaign coincides with the International Month of Breast Cancer Awareness and will be implemented in centers and hospitals of the Ministries of Health, Higher Education, Interior and Defense, as well as community centers. Increased risk of infection and ways to prevent the disease.
The awareness campaign last year reached 250,000 women in health centers and hospitals with medical examinations, awareness sessions and self-examination training, while 8,500 mammograms were conducted.
