[Istanbul 1st Reuters]-IHS Markit and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce announced the September Manufacturing Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) at 50.0, the highest since March 2018.

New orders are on the rise, and production and employment have increased.

Last month was 48.0. Until the previous month, it fell below 50, the turning point of the boom, for 17 consecutive months.

Severe economic conditions continue, but there are signs of improvement, and the effects of the currency crisis last year are fading.

Andrew HS, associate director of IHS Markit

Mr. Harker said, “If the current trend continues, solid growth may be realized in the fourth quarter of this year.”

In September, the rate of increase in input prices slowed down, allowing companies to lower output prices for the first time in eight months.
