For his part, the head of the Consumer Protection Department at the Directorate, Bassam Al-Hafez, called for cooperating with the elements and patrols of consumer protection to face the weak souls and manipulators of the citizen's livelihood, activating the culture of complaint and reactivating the work of the Consumer Protection Association, which stopped during the crisis.
Al-Hafiz explained that the Directorate receives written complaints from citizens or by telephone on the number 119 or through its patrols spread to the markets to find out the real prices and detect fraud and exploitation of citizens, pointing out the organization of 36 rationing during the week of the campaign against a number of commercial activities related to non-announcement of prices Selling at a premium and not trading regular bills.
Some wholesale dealers demanded an end to high prices. Iyad Masalmeh, owner of a wholesale and food center in Daraa, pointed out that some producers and factory owners do not respond to the traders' calls regarding the stability of prices, even for at least 15 days, demanding that they take measures to sell them at reasonable prices.
