North Korea launched a ballistic missile off the Sea of Japan off Kangwondo and Wonsan in the east at around 7:11 am on the 2nd. According to the Japanese government, it appears to have fallen into Japan's exclusive economic zone (EEZ) around 350 km north of Shimano Prefecture Oki Islands, off Shimago. The Korean government estimated that it was a series of medium-range ballistic missiles “Arctic Stars” and pointed out the possibility of being a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM).
