After Ukraine Affair: Trump asks China to investigate Biden

2019-10-03T17:23:16.915Z

"About as bad as what happened in Ukraine": US President Donald Trump extends his allegations against Democrat Joe Biden and his son. The government in Beijing should take care of it.

This time, the broadcaster was not a whistleblower to the public, but the US President himself: In front of reporters in Washington, Donald Trump called on the Beijing government to investigate Democrat Joe Biden and his son Hunter. "China should begin an inquiry into the bidding," said Trump.

The US president did not rule out that he could also seek direct contact with China's head of state Xi Jinping to investigate the bid. Such a request, his government could "certainly begin to think". The activities of Biden in China are "about as bad as what happened in Ukraine".

Trump suspects the Biden without evidence to have been involved in corruption cases in Ukraine as in China. Nobody has "any doubt that they were fraudulent," he claimed.

Equity Funds Founded days after Biden visit to China

Biden had been accompanied by his son Hunter on a China trip in his former post as Vice President in 2013. Hunter Biden was busy building a Chinese equity fund. On the sidelines of his father's official visit, he met with a Chinese banker. The fund was then established ten days after Bidens visited China.

According to Trump, Hunter Biden is said to have used his father's trip to get $ 1.5 billion in China for the fund. A spokesman for Hunter Biden told the NBC News channel that he had invested in the stock funds himself years after the trip to China. Only in 2017 - after the departure of his father from the office of Vice President - he had acquired shares in the amount of $ 420,000.

There is no evidence that the biden in China could be involved in illegal activities. The same applies to their activities in Ukraine. Trump's suspicion is apparently based on rumors that Joe Biden, as vice president, has been working to dismiss a former Ukrainian Attorney General to protect his son Hunter from corruption investigations.

Renewed demand on Selenskyj

Trump is now facing a threat of impeachment because he had urged in a telephone conversation with the Ukrainian leader Wolodymyr Selenskyj on investigations against the Bidens. On Thursday he demanded in his conversation with reporters Selenskyj again to let investigate against the Bidens.

The Democrats are charging Trump to seek material for the election campaign by misusing his office. Biden cites the polls with Democrat candidates for candidacy against Trump in the coming year.

Because of the Ukraine affair, the Democrats have launched an investigation in the House of Representatives they control. It is the preliminary stage to a possible impeachment procedure against the president. This would then take place in the Senate, where Trump's Republicans are in the majority.
