Slovak President Zuzana Chapotova has reiterated her country's rejection of attempts by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to establish a so-called “safe zone” in northern Syria.
Syria expressed its categorical rejection of the agreement announced by the US and Turkish occupation on the establishment of the so-called "safe area", stressing that it constitutes a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and a flagrant violation of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
Speaking at a news conference in Prague after a meeting of leaders of the Visegrad group, Chapotova warned against backing the idea of a so-called "safe zone", noting that its support "will contribute to a new conflict" in the region.
The group of States of Visegrad comprises the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary.
