The General Organization for Food Industries announced the start of its first executive steps to establish a dairy factory in Quneitra by laying the foundation stone for this project in the village of Kom in the governorate yesterday.

The project will be implemented in cooperation with Kenitra governorate on the basis of a key by hand and a production capacity of up to 10 tons per day aimed at investing part of the milk available in the province and comes within the executive steps of the Foundation's projects, which include sectors, Various food industries.

She explained that the allocation of 400 million pounds for the implementation of the plant on an area of ​​10 acres allocated by the province of Quneitra, pointing out that the institution is contracting to establish this construction and supply of equipment available locally and installed and launch work as soon as possible.

A member of the executive office in the province for agriculture sector Ahmed Eid Bin in a statement earlier to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the number of livestock in the province amounted to more than 195 thousand head of which about 22792 heads of cows produce about 1019 tons of red meat and more than 20 thousand tons of milk More than the need of the province to establish a factory for cheese and dairy to help breeders in marketing their production.

She pointed out that this project comes in response to the need of livestock breeders in the province to market the surplus of milk production, which is among several projects the establishment plans to establish in order to activate its role and re-map the distribution of food industries on a balanced geographical level in various governorates, pointing out that the Foundation will put forward projects to establish Conservancy and dairy plants in several areas, including the jungle area to take advantage of the plant and animal products that are abundant in this region to be the products of these plants for export.

In a statement issued earlier, the company said that the foundation is studying the economic feasibility of establishing a milk powder factory in addition to setting up a freezing and packaging project in the eastern region, which could be in partnership with the private sector, along with a project for juices in the coast and a new pasta line in Daraa.
