The negotiations for an EU exit of the British are stuck for months. However, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has yet to rule out a further extension of the withdrawal period. Now he shows himself ready for another Brexit shift.
According to a BBC report, in court documents Johnson has pledged to apply for a Brexit extension to the EU should both sides fail to reach a divorce agreement by 19 October. Also the British news agency PA reports about it.
The BBC relied on documents submitted by the government to a Scottish court. There Brexit opponents want to enforce that Johnson obeys a recently passed law, which provides for a Brexit postponement in the event of a failure to reach an agreement with the EU. Johnson had announced that he would abide by the law, but also that he wants to lead the United Kingdom on 31 October to the deadline if necessary, even without an agreement from the EU.
