Protests intensify in Ecuador

In an attempt to minimize the effect of the violent demonstrations that plague the country, the president of Ecuador, Lenín Moreno, declared the state of exception. The president warned that he does not plan to reverse the economic measures that caused social unrest. He also indicated that the elimination of the gasoline subsidy, one of the most unpopular provisions, is still standing, and declared himself open to dialogue with the different sectors of the country.
