"Keep your mind fresh, clear, free, without ruminating harmful ideas, or keeping bad memories that consume your energy," advises the author.

(CNN Spanish) - Pray the resounding saying: think badly and you will be right, but I think it would be much more correct if I said: think badly and you will get sick. Yes, the quality of our thinking is essential to develop good mental health. In the same way that our body gets sick when we eat harmful things, so does the sick mind when it feeds on negative thoughts: that if my husband gets along too well with the secretary; that if my boss looks at me badly, that if my son doesn't tell me the truth; that if they don't value me, and a long etcetera of thoughts as useless as harmful that lead nowhere and deplete us psychologically. Experts say that thinking intensely about the possibility of having a traffic accident consumes almost as much vital energy as when in fact it occurs.

Think well, wisely, with success, with magnanimity, without being carried away by negative emotions. Never judge the intentions of others no matter how obvious they may seem. Keep your mind fresh, clear, free, without ruminating harmful ideas, or keeping bad memories that consume your energy. The mind is like a house. It must be kept clean to be habitable. And for this, in addition to shaking the dust, you have to learn not to dirty it. A Japanese told me: my country is very clean because they teach us not to stain.

In addition to good thoughts, the mind needs discipline. Mental discipline is like sport for the body. Do not allow your mind to do what it wants with you, to act capriciously, to dominate you. If this happens, the mind, instead of being your faithful servant, will become the madwoman of the house.

My suggestion for today is the following: learn to cultivate positive thoughts and control your mind correctly. The consequences on your mental health will not wait.
