[3rd Reuters]-The US Center for Disease Control (CDC) has reached a total of 18 deaths from unexplained pulmonary disease associated with e-cigarettes and other aspiration products called vapors on the 3rd Reported.
As a result, the cumulative total of more than 1000 confirmed or likely cases of this disease was 1,080 in 48 US states and 1 US territory. There were 805 cases last week. Officials have not yet found the cause.
CDC Anne Schuchat explained to the reporters over the phone that there were no signs that the disease had peaked. The CDC said it has dispatched staff to several states to strengthen the response and to communicate the diagnostic methods to doctors.
Many of the cases reported last week have occurred since the CDC warned last month, and the CDC calls again to stop using vapor until the cause of the disease is identified.
Since the information update conducted by the CDC on the 26th of last month, new cases of death have been reported in five states, and death cases have occurred in 15 states in total. The average age of death is from the 20s to the 70s.
