The Ministry of Public Works and Housing received today the first batch of engineering machinery and equipment from the Russian company Stroy Expert to repair the shortage of construction companies due to terrorist attacks.
Deputy Minister of Public Works and Housing Mohammad Saifuddin Bin told reporters at the port of Tartous that the equipment is part of the agreement with the Russian company to supply 144 vehicles, which will be received within a year from the date of the contract, pointing out the need for Syrian companies for these equipment in order to participate in the reconstruction.
Engineer Mohammad Assi, director of the General Company for Roads and Bridges, said that the equipment received belongs to all the general construction companies instead of the mechanisms that were destroyed during the war on Syria.
The Russian company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the General Organization for Housing for the implementation of housing projects belonging to the ministry, including the implementation of the island 21 in the Dimas area of Damascus countryside to establish an investment residential suburb according to modern design and executive visions, he said. Implementation and funding and lay the foundations for other strategic projects.
