In Manhattan, New York, 5 days before dawn, four men who were considered street dwellers were killed, and one man became more serious. The New York Times (NYT) reported. The New York City Police Department said that they were investigating the details of a 24-year-old man.
According to NYT, the incident occurred in Chinatown in the southern part of Manhattan Island. Victims seemed to have been beaten with metal objects where they were sleeping, and metal objects about 90 cm long, such as building materials, were found near the site. The city council has not yet identified the motives, but the victims are likely to be due to racial prejudice because they contain multiple races. (New York = Manabu Fujiwara)
