(CNN Spanish) - Nine people were shot in a private bar in Kansas City during the night and authorities say the assailant is a fugitive.
The shooting broke out at 1:27 am (2:27 am ET) at the Tequila KC bar in Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman Thomas Tomasic said.
Four of the shooting victims died inside the bar, Tomasic said. The other five victims were hospitalized in stable condition on Sunday.
None of the victims have been publicly identified. The reason remains unclear.

The Tequila KC bar is a private place for members only, said KSHB, a CNN affiliate.
Police found gun cases on the scene, but it is not clear if one or more shooters were involved, KSHB said.
"We still don't have a description good enough to show something to a suspect or suspect," said Tomasic. "We don't even know how many they are."
Detectives are looking for surveillance videos of the area. Agents cleared the bar early Sunday and waited for a search warrant to re-enter.
