Chinese President Xi Jinping and Kim Jong-un exchanged congratulatory messages on the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Xi said in his message, expressing his country's readiness to continue to work with the DPRK and take this anniversary as an opportunity to promote long-term, healthy and stable bilateral relations. Xi pointed out that the traditional friendship between China and the DPRK is steadfast to the test of time and changes in the international arena, and has become stronger over time and deeply rooted in the two peoples, stressing that maintaining and promoting bilateral relations is a firm policy of the CPC and the Chinese government.
Kim said in his message that the DPRK-China relations have now entered an important period of succession of the past and progress towards the future, stressing the determination to continue the traditional friendship with China and the comprehensive revival of the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
Kim said he is ready to work with Xi to carry out the common aspirations of the two peoples and promote and develop the DPRK-China friendly relations, while noting the diplomatic relations between the two countries and the joint efforts of the two peoples over the past years and their steadfastness in various circumstances.
