New York (CNN Business) - A former Trump Organization executive says she believes President Donald Trump can resign instead of facing a possible impeachment by political trial.
"It does a lot of things to save the honor," Barbara Res, former vice president of the Trump Organization, told Brian Stelter of CNN from reliable sources on Sunday.
“It would be very, very, very bad for him to be charged,” said Res. “I don't know if he will be convicted, but I don't know if he wants to be charged. I think that's what this panic is about. And my gut tells me to leave office, he will resign. Or he will make some kind of deal, even depending on what comes out. ”

Res said he hesitated to share his opinion, because "very well I could be wrong."
But Res has first-hand experience working with Trump. She was the construction engineer on some of her key projects, including TorreTrump, and is the author of "All Alone on the 68th Floor: How One Woman Changed the Face of Construction," which partly recounts her time working for the president. while he ran his company.
She has criticized Trump in recent years, even during the 2016 campaign, when she said she was not fit for the job.

His comments come when the investigation of political judgment on Trump's interactions with the president of Ukraine intensifies. House of Representatives Democrats cited the White House on Friday as part of the Trump investigation. And this Sunday, the lawyer of the first intelligence whistleblower who filed accusations about Trump and Ukraine said he is now representing a second whistleblower regarding the actions of the president.
The investigation has sent Trump into a storm of tweets in recent days, defending himself and denouncing both Democratic legislators and critics within his own party.
Res said she is not surprised by Trump's reaction.

"He always reacted very quickly, never responded to anything, always reacted and got very angry," said Res. "He had the notion that everything that happened that was bad was directed at him, as if they were behind him, people chased. ”
She said that, however, there have been some elements of Trump's campaign and presidency that he would not have expected, saying that his behavior has worsened compared to when he worked for him. Res was surprised to see reports that Trump told Russian officials that he was not worried about the country's interference in the 2016 US presidential election because, he said, "that was stupid and I never thought it was stupid."
But most of the time, Res said the president is still the Donald Trump he met while working for him for more than a decade.

"I thought about it when I was running for office," said Res. "And not necessarily for the mental reasons you are talking about, but because he did not have the experience, you know, many different reasons."
