[Dubai / Riyadh, 4th Reuters]-Saudi Arabia has revealed that it is considering a truce agreement proposed by Yemen's pro-Iranian armed organization Fusi. If realized, the UN ceasefire efforts may be developed.
Two weeks ago, the Husi faction proposed a condition that if the Saudis did not attack with missiles and drones, the Fusi did not attack the Saudis as well.
The Saudi side has not expressed acceptance or rejection of the proposal, but the Saudi government welcomed the proposal this week. Three diplomatic officials and two other sources revealed to Reuters that Saudi was seriously seeking some form of truce to stop the deterioration of the civil war.
The two sources said that there was a reason to be optimistic that some sort of consensus could be reached in the near future, as the Saudi bombings were significantly reduced.
Meanwhile, senior military officials on the Fusi faction revealed that Saudi “has started a dialogue” with a Fusi political leader through a third party, but no agreement has been reached.
According to sources, the proposal includes a partial ceasefire in some areas. However, the Fushi side has shown that it has not accepted partial agreements so far.
