The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) branch has completed distributing food aid to needy families in Nawa city and introduced a new convoy to Yarmouk Basin area of Daraa countryside as part of the humanitarian response plan for all areas of the province.
The head of the Red Crescent branch in Daraa, Dr. Ahmed Masalmeh told SANA today that a convoy of 22 trucks loaded with food and flour was distributed in the city of Nawa in the northern countryside, bringing the total food baskets provided by the World Food Program distributed in three batches to 14279. Al-Masalmeh added that the branch distributed 7908 baskets of food and similar flour in the villages and towns of Al-Shajra, Al-Qusair, Wahet, Beit Ara, Koya, Koya Al-Balad, Nafaa, Abdeen, Ma'ariya and Jumla in the Yarmouk Basin in the western countryside.
Based on field tours in Daraa governorate and an assessment of the humanitarian needs of its population, the distribution of food assistance to the most needy families is completed. The Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch in Daraa is distributing the assistance provided by the World Food Program targeting the needy and those affected by the terrorist war on Syria in various areas. The Syrian Arab Army has liberated it from terrorism and others. During the past months, tens of thousands of food baskets and agricultural grants have been distributed to people in many cities, villages and towns of Daraa.
