The Excellence and Creativity Commission confirmed today the continuation of registration in the tests of the first phase of the new season of the Syrian scientific Olympiad for the academic year 2019-2020, for students of first grade secondary students from all governorates.
Nabug Yassin, Director of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad, told SANA today that the Commission is continuing its strategy to uncover the talents of specialized scientific excellence in all governorates, embracing, sponsoring and qualifying them as a national wealth and working to develop their abilities and enhance their skills through scientific Olympiad competitions, rehabilitation programs, training and participation. Continental and global.
She added that the scientific Olympiad competitions and successive qualifiers in the sciences of “mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics and biology” will be held in a hierarchical manner starting from schools, and the first participants qualify for the qualifying stage of the higher stage “educational complexes” To the finalists that will be held centrally in early 2020 to announce the winners of the membership of national teams in Syria.
It is scheduled to begin the first phase tests at the level of schools for mathematics on Monday, the 14th of October, physics on the seventeenth of it, chemistry on the twenty-first of it, biology on the twenty-fourth of it and informatics on the twenty-eighth.
The student has the right to apply for the competition in more than one of the competencies of the Olympics at the level of schools only and then choose one specialization for the later stages, stating that the student does not incur any fees or expenses for the participation in the Olympics at all stages and for the training provided or supervised by the Authority in any Stage.
Successful to the second stage at the level of educational complexes, as announced by the Commission a maximum of 50 students in each discipline according to the sequence of their grades due.
