Egypt, Cyprus and Greece affirmed the necessity of preserving the territorial integrity and territorial integrity of Syria, expressing deep concern over the Turkish aggression on Syrian territory.

In a joint statement after a meeting between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Cairo on Tuesday, the three countries condemned any Turkish attempt to undermine Syrian territorial integrity.

They also stressed the commitment to the unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Syria, expressing support for international efforts to promote a political solution to the crisis in Syria in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2254 and the Geneva Declaration.

The three countries expressed grave concern about the situation in the Idlib region, where thousands of terrorists are receiving assistance from specific parties, posing a common threat to the Mediterranean region.

The three countries reaffirmed the strengthening of international efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, calling on the international community to take further action in accordance with international law against all terrorist organizations, as well as to take concrete measures to hold regional actors involved in financing, supplying weapons, providing safe haven and media platforms to terrorist organizations.

The three countries reaffirmed their firm support for Cyprus' efforts to reach a solution to the Cyprus issue on the basis of Security Council resolutions, demanding the Turkish regime to end its provocative actions and resume negotiations to find a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus issue, stressing that this solution is consistent with the independence of the Republic of Cyprus, its membership in the European Union and its full right to protect its security. Independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Egypt, Cyprus and Greece also condemned the continuing Turkish actions in the exclusive economic zone of Cyprus and its territorial waters, which constitute a violation of international law and a violation of Greek airspace and territorial waters in the Aegean Sea.

Earlier in the day, the Egyptian president reiterated the need to respect Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, saying during a press conference on the sidelines of the tripartite meeting, `` We have firmly rejected attempts to use force, cut off part of Syrian territory and impose a new reality in the region in violation of international norms and laws. ''
