Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi reiterated the need to respect Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"We have firmly rejected our attempts to use force, cut off part of Syrian territory and impose a new fait accompli in the region in violation of international norms and laws," Sisi told a news conference on the sidelines of a trilateral meeting between Egypt, Cyprus and Greece in Cairo.
The Egyptian President pointed out that the trilateral meeting discussed the developments in Syria and stressed the support of the Syrian-Syrian dialogue to reach a political solution to the crisis and the efforts of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General to Syria, Gederson.
The tripartite meeting, together with Sisi, brought together Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotax.
