The Special Assistant to the President of the Islamic Shura Council for International Affairs, Hossein Amir Abdullaian, reiterated his country's rejection of the military aggression by the Turkish regime against Syria, stressing that it complicates the situation in the region and undermines security there.
Abdullahian said in a tweet on Twitter today that the way to secure the border is to respect national sovereignty, negotiation and agreement, pointing out that the direct result of the aggression in the region is to escalate the crisis and create a new wave of refugees and the increase of terrorism.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed yesterday that Iran opposes any Turkish aggression on Syrian territory, stressing the need to respect Syrian sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
This afternoon, the Turkish regime's army launched an attack on the city of Ras al-Ain in the northwest countryside of al-Hasakah province and on the Tal Abyad area in the northern countryside of Raqqa.
