The 28th General Assembly of the Union of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN) concluded in Algiers today with the participation of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) and 15 news agencies representing Mediterranean countries, which lasted for two days.
At the end of its work, the General Assembly adopted the annual report on the activities of the Union at the media level as well as joint activities with member agencies.
The report focused on the need to increase the role of the Union in the organization of media workshops on the development of the capacity of journalists and member news agencies in the fields of modern media.
The report noted the active participation of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) in the media platforms of the Union in terms of content and dissemination.
The Secretary-General of the Union George Benintaiks stressed the need to activate the website of the Union on all media platforms and the contribution of member agencies to support media content in the three languages Arabic English and French.
APS assumed the rotating presidency of the Union as the host country and the next meeting of the Assembly was approved in Croatia.
The Federation of Mediterranean News Agencies includes Syria, Algeria, Egypt, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Lebanon, Libya, Tunisia, Palestine, Greece, Cyprus, Albania, Serbia, Croatia, Mauritania, Morocco and Turkey.
It aims to exchange information, promote dialogue and support development and cooperation among Mediterranean news agencies.
