A tour group of 27 people of French and Portuguese nationality visited the ancient city of Palmyra and learned about its monuments and the effects of the brutal attacks of the terrorist organization "IS" on some of its monuments before it was defeated from the region.

William Arthur, director of a tourism company working to bring French tourists to Syria, said that “despite what the oppressors and the haters of culture and history have done and what some media do distort the facts, we will continue to bring the groups interested in tourism to Syria. For his part, the writer and poet Phillip expressed his admiration for the tourist areas that he saw in Syria for eight days, pointing to the warm reception and honor he touched among the Syrian people, calling on the French to visit Palmyra, which he described as a city of "fantasy and bright sun."

Meanwhile, Portuguese photographer Luis Costan called for the "contribution of international cultural organizations to the restoration of Palmyra's prominent ruins destroyed by terrorists," stressing that the ruins of the city of Palmyra, which is surrounded by palm trees, is a spectacular sight.
