European Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos stressed that the EU is committed to the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria.
Avramopoulos was quoted by France 24 as commenting on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's regime's aggression on Syrian territory.
In turn, Luxembourg's foreign minister in charge of immigration Jean-Asselborn told reporters that he hoped that the Turkish regime would not take any aggressive action against Syria, noting that the results of any aggression would affect Europe through a new wave of refugees and displaced persons.
Last night, the Turkish army attacked the northeastern countryside of al-Hasakah, targeting locations near the illegal Simalka crossing on the Syrian-Iraqi border and Tal Tawil in the Malikiyah countryside, where there are points of the separatist SDF militia.
