[Tokyo 9th Reuters]-Akihiro Nishimura, Deputy Secretary General Akihiro Nishimura, offered a postponement of the Northern Teshima Island pilot tour from the Russian side at the meeting on the morning of the 9th. He expressed his desire to follow.
The pilot sightseeing tour was scheduled to be carried out for the first time as one of the joint economic activities of Russia and Japan, but the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 8th that Russia had applied for postponement. Since the tour was scheduled to start on the 9th, Secretary Nishimura said, “Because it was just before departure, we coordinated with the parties concerned and decided to postpone it (also on the Japanese side),” he said.
He also expressed his intention to “promote economic activities and territorial negotiations regarding future prospects,” and stated that he would like to make an effort to implement the tour again.
