Nancy Pelosi attacks Trump: "Mr President, you are not above the law"

2019-10-09T04:17:20.253Z

The White House does not want to cooperate with the Congress in the investigation of Donald Trump in the Ukraine. The Democrats criticize this sharply - and are now attacking the US president.

US House of Representatives leader Democracy Nancy Pelosi has used the White House's refusal to cooperate in the investigation of Donald Trump to launch a frontal attack on the president. "Mr President, you are not above the law," she wrote on Twitter. "You will be held responsible."

The actions of the president threatened national security and violated the constitution, Pelosi said. The White House letter is just the last attempt to cover up Trump's "betrayal of our democracy and to insist that the president is above the law."

. @ realDonaldTrump, you are not above the law. You want to be held accountable. #TruthExposed https://t.co/elMCHdLYlK

The White House had previously stated in a letter to the US House of Representatives that Democrats' preliminary investigations into a possible impeachment of Trump over the Ukrainian situation were motivated solely by party politicians, violated the constitution and lacked any basis. Therefore, the government can not and will not participate in this "political theater".

Pelosi, in turn, wrote in a statement that the White House should be warned - continued efforts to hide the truth about the President's abuse of power would be seen as further evidence of disability. "Despite the White House's blockade policy, we see an increasing body of evidence showing that President Trump is abusing his office and violating his oath to protect, preserve and defend the Constitution."

For some time, the president has been trying to normalize lawlessness, write Pelosi. "Now he's trying to make lawlessness a virtue."

The Democrats in the House of Representatives are vigorously pursuing investigations into possible impeachment of the Republican President - for a so-called impeachment. Trump is accused of abusing the power of his office for a foreign government to interfere in his election campaign.

APRConstruction of the Ukrainian AffairHow Trump's conspiracy theories arose

Trump had encouraged the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyj in a phone call in late July to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Biden is applying for the presidential candidature of the Democrats at the 2020 election. The content of the conversation with Selenskyj came to the public after an anonymous intelligence officer filed a complaint with an internal control panel. According to the Democrats, Trump temporarily used blocked military aid for Ukraine as a means of pressure on the issue.

Democrats have petitioned for numerous documents in recent weeks, including the White House, the State Department, the Vice President, and the Department of Defense. It was not until Tuesday that the Trump government blocked the testimony of a top diplomat before the congress, causing outrage among Democrats. It was almost a foretaste of the later whiz from the White House.
