The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the Nobel Prize in Chemistry this year on the 9th. Prof. John Goodenough at the University of Texas at Austin, Professor Michael Stanley Whittingham at the University of New York at Binghamton, and Akira Yoshino and Honorary Fellow at Asahi Kasei received the award for developing lithium-ion batteries.
