The ecologist activists of Extinction Rebellion launched a blockade operation rue de Rivoli, in Paris. They occupy several places in the capital since Monday.
For their fourth day of blocking in the center of Paris, activists of the ecologist movement Extinction Rebellion (XR) now occupy the Rue de Rivoli.
"For life, we take Rivoli," chanted the few tens of protesters who settled on the road at several access points of this major axis of the capital now deprived of cars for part of its length.
The Place du Châtelet still occupied
"Free the cyclists locked in cars" or "We are the elephant tusks" , sing participants who placed plastic skeletons on a pedestrian crossing to symbolically block the passage.
A few hundred of them already occupy since Monday the Place du Chatelet and the bridge at Change on the Seine, the central node of the capital, to demand more action against global warming.
A young movement born a year ago in the United Kingdom, XR is mobilizing all week in 60 cities around the world.
