The Ecole Centrale de Nantes rejected, by a vote in its board of directors, to integrate the Nantes University project, which was to start in January 2020.
It is a new stone in the shoe of the project Nantes unversité, originally scheduled to see the light in January 2020: the Ecole Centrale de Nantes rejected, by vote (17 against, 12 for, 1 abstention) this Wednesday afternoon, the statutes of Nantes University.
"Tomorrow, I will exchange with the two other founding members of Nantes University and NExT, the CHU and Inserm, and with the CNRS to take the concrete measure of the consequences of this vote and prepare for the future " , Announces Olivier Laboux, president of the University of Nantes.
This project, to which Inserm had joined, has experienced some ups and downs in recent years, with Centrale's refusal to join in 2017, linked in particular to personnel management issues. The situation then improved. An association agreement had been signed by Centrale and the University. But the merger is still, it seems, not near to take place.
