The veteran Italian (38), Paolo Lorenzi, was solid, against the very young French Rayane Roumane, 19 years his junior, during the second round of the International Vendée (7-6, 6-2). "It was a good match," commented the Transalpin, who still ranks 118th in the world, after years of top 50. "I had seen him play the day before. I knew he was very strong. Winner of the Small Ace of Tarbes in 2014, Rayane Roumane was however on the brink of taking the first round, rounded up at the tie-break by the Italian. After having two break points at the start of the second set, the young Frenchman was quickly outdistanced by his opponent? much more regular. Committing too many mistakes, Roumane thus saw his Vendean adventure end, at the stage of the second round.
