The Ministry of Labor has decided: the institution for integration into employment (Epide), unique in Britain, will be maintained on the Coat-an-Doc'h site in Lanrodec (Côtes-d'Armor). A satisfaction for elected members of Leff Armor community who presented a "real project of territory" focused on youth and integration.
For several months, the question of maintaining Epide (Institution for insertion in employment) in Lanrodec questioned. Tuesday, after a meeting with the Minister of Labor, Philippe Le Goux and Jean-Pierre Le Goux, the President of Leff Armor Community (LAC) and the mayor of Lanrodec, accompanied by Yannick Kerlogot, the deputy of Guingamp, had a smile on their faces.
"The political decision is to keep the Epide in its current site, reports the president of LAC. However, there are still some administrative steps to be taken to launch the restructuring project for the Coat-an-Doc'h site, which corresponds to the Ministry's expectations. "
The Epide and an economic zone
If local officials say they have always been confident. They do not hide their satisfaction with this decision to reinforce the project they had put forward to counter a possible transfer of the Epide. The entire 20 ha, property of the Salesians of Don Bosco, should therefore be totally redeveloped. "This is not a simple renovation of the establishment, but rather a spatial planning, in addition to rural, with a focus on youth and economic integration," said Philippe Le Goux. Certainly, with a complete refurbishment of the Epide, but also the development of a zone of economic activities north of the parcel.
The community therefore plans to acquire the site, to implement this global project, estimated at some 12 million euros. "It's about putting young people in employment and businesses in touch, with the possibility also for young people to go by bus to Guingamp or Saint-Brieuc," he continues. The new mobility offer for Epide volunteers, long awaited by the establishment's management teams, will come into effect as soon as the holidays come back on the All Saints' Day holiday. A boost from the Region that will certainly have contributed to the final decision making in high places.
So many projects that will allow hundreds of young people between the ages of 18 and 25, men and women volunteers, looking for support to build or rebuild a future ...
