Final clap for the ten trainees of the first animation film training at the École supérieure d'art (Eesab), in Lorient.
A first in Europe. In Lorient, the Brittany European School of Art (Eesab) has just completed its first nine-month training course in the field of animation. More specifically, in the format "Start motion".
What is startup motion? By means of a camera, we give life to objects through the cinema, in 25 images per second, details Marie Cattiaut, one of the ten trainees, who grew up in Morbihan then studied between Rennes and Nantes. The difficulty is to make their movement credible without being too realistic.
During their nine months of training, trainees had to assimilate the whole process: the animation frame by frame, the construction of puppets then of studios, the writing of a scenario, all the aspect production ... At the end of another three months of internship, continues Frédérique Calvez, coordinator, they shot pellets projected at the end clap Tuesday night at the Eesab, Lorient.
Its director Danièle Yvergniaux said how emblematic this project was innovative and adventurous. It has benefited from very beautiful partnerships and opens new perspectives to the students and the professionals of the animation, that are now these ten trainees.
Among other prestigious speakers, the director Denis Valgenwitz welcomed this initiative, funded by the Brittany Region: It overcomes a lack of knowledge transmission and structure this sector. This training could be extended in two years, this time on a European scale.
