Vote of no confidence: Romania's government is voted out

Romania's Social Democratic government under Prime Minister Viorica Dancila was voted out of Parliament on Thursday. 238 MPs and Senators - five more than necessary - voted for the motion of no confidence brought by six opposition parties. Among other things, they accused Dancila of incompetence, lack of public investment and weak use of available EU funds.

Until the new government takes office, Dancila will provisionally continue the business, with limited powers. Among other things, she may no longer issue urgent regulations.
