The 8th National Arabian Horse Show was inaugurated at Bassel Al-Assad Equestrian Club in Dimas, Damascus Countryside.

The competition, which is organized by the Syrian Arabian Horse Association, includes competitions for foals, horses and horses, divided into two categories, the first for the Arabian horses of Syrian origin and the second for all the Arabian horses from different sources within specific ages.These competitions are supervised by a specialized international committee of local and international referees.

The opening ceremony saw artistic performances and various paragraphs in the art of taming the horse amid great encouragement to the fans and fans of the sport.

During the inauguration, the association's director, Mohammed Al-Wadi, pointed out the great efforts made to preserve the Arabian horses in Syria by documenting them through internationally accredited records through the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, in addition to the intensive activities set up by the association of races and championships to encourage breeders to continue breeding the Arabian horse.

Al-Wadi pointed out that Syria is one of the important and effective countries in the field of purebred Arabian horses due to the intensive tournaments and activities witnessed in the racetracks during the past years. He expected that the competitions of this tournament will be stronger as a result of the good preparation of the horses that preceded the tournament.

The association held the seventh national performance last year on the grounds of Bassel Al-Assad Equestrian Club after a hiatus for several years, although it had previously held six shows before 2011.
