The heads of three committees in the Democrat-dominated US House of Representatives issued a request to summon US Energy Secretary Rick Perry for his role in US President Donald Trump's efforts to push Ukrainian President Vladimir Zielinski to open an investigation with his potential political rival and former Vice President Joe Biden.
US media reported that the heads of the committees leading the investigation said in a letter to Perry that recently public reports raised questions about any role they may have played in conveying or reinforcing the president's blatant message to the Ukrainian president.
The call comes as the Democrat-led US House of Representatives is investigating Trump's abuse of power over the details of a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelinsky last July, in which Trump demanded a reopening of the investigation into Hunter Biden, affecting Joe Biden's fortunes in Elections Investigations could isolate the Republican president.
