Deir Ezzor-Sana
The quantities of cotton marketed from Deir Ezzor governorate to the gins of the central region amounted to 1105 tons.
Director of the Deir Ezzor Gin Engineer Saleh Al-Harmash told SANA that the cottons received and the weight of the trucks allocated by the General Organization for Cotton Ginning and Marketing have been received since the beginning of this month to transport the cotton received from Deir Ezzor to Homs and Hamah gins at the expense of the foundation. Received so far has reached 1105 tons.
In turn, the Director of the Agricultural Bank in Deir Ezzor, Engineer Bassam Al-Ksairi, said that the bank will process the exchange of cotton values as soon as the invoices arrive, indicating that the number of cotton pallets supplied to Deir Ezzor reached 41 thousand shells and about 36 thousand of them were distributed to farmers at 1250 Syrian pounds per shell.
It is noteworthy that the total area planted with cotton in the governorate of Deir Ezzor is 11 thousand hectares, of which 3,570 hectares in areas free of terrorism and estimates of the average production per hectare of cotton in the province about 3600 kg.
