2019-10-13T15:17:23.114Z

Unusually harsh criticized a party friend Federal Research Minister Anja Karliczek: The Baden-Württemberg Minister of Culture Susanne Eisenman calls for her resignation - and keeps a small back door open.

The sympathy between Federal Research Minister Anja Karliczek and Baden-Wuerttemberg Minister of Education Susanne Eisenmann is unlikely to be too great. Although both politicians are in the CDU, but the current similarities end already.

The reason for the dispute: a center for battery cell research, which is to be settled according to a decision of the Federal Ministry of Research at the University of Münster. The selection process is massively in the criticism, after SPIEGEL searches, the process was not clean: The reviewers should have been deprived of information that spoke against the site of Münster. The allegations are all the more piquant, as the Bundestag constituency of Anja Karliczek is in the immediate vicinity.

Other sites favored by experts, such as the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) in Ulm, were not included. This in turn brings Susanne Eisenmann, top candidate of the CDU in Baden-Wuerttemberg for the state election in 2021, so on the palm, that they now massively distributed.

Eisenmann has in several interviews a resignation of her party colleague in conversation, if it should confirm that in the award of the battery factory at Karliczek's home region of Münster influence was taken. The "Stuttgarter Zeitung" and the "Stuttgarter Nachrichten" she said: "If the allegations in the room confirm what everything indicates, Karliczek is no longer sustainable as Federal Research Minister."

Similarly, she expressed herself in further interviews, including with the SWR. The decision of the Berlin Ministry was "extremely questionable", the location of the battery factory "simply a farce".

On Sunday, the Berlin Ministry of Research said: "What we have said over and over again is that the site selection process was proper and fair, and all applications had the same opportunities." Over the past few months, the ministry has been fully transparent about the decision-making process and the reasons for choosing a location. In view of this, information deficits can only complain about who has ever asked questions. Eisenmann did not do that.
