Lourdes Tibán, leader of the indigenous movement in Ecuador, tells Carmen Aristegui that the economic measures established by the government of President Lenín Moreno mostly affect the indigenous people and the working class. Tibán explains that historically indigenous groups have had to organize protests and uprisings for governments to listen to their requests. He also regrets that, in Moreno's case, he had to reach this point, since at the beginning of his government they had a dialogue with him, which, unfortunately, did not have an effect on the recent economic changes applied, which unleashed the violent protests.
