Twelve people have been killed after a cargo ship sank by Typhoon Hagbis in Japan.

Reuters quoted the Japanese daily Yomiuri as saying that 12 crew members were killed and four others were rescued.

In turn, the Japanese Ministry of Transport that the cargo ship registered in Panama was found by water near the capital Tokyo after losing its impact in the wake of the typhoon and its crew members from Myanmar, China and Vietnam.

The ship was anchored off the coast of Kawasaki, south of Tokyo, when it lost contact since Saturday, the ministry said.

At least 19 people were killed and more than 100 injured, while 16 people were missing from Typhoon Hagbis, which hit Japan on Sunday.
