New York (CNN Business) - For months, gadget blogs and even Google itself have shown so many photos, videos and details about the Pixel 4 that a leading technology publication called it "the cell phone with more spoilers."

In the process, Google has clearly tried to increase consumer excitement for the device before its official launch along with other new hardware products at an event on Tuesday in New York. But the company could also have created a different challenge for itself: what else can Google say to promote its flagship phone in the event that was not already known?

This is the information that is already available: the Pixel is expected to finally change its rear camera for two, an online movement with most smartphones on the market, but one less than the offer of three rear cameras of the iPhone 11 Pro. The cameras will be in a square device on the top left of the device, which looks a lot like Apple's new camera structure.

The Pixel 4, which is expected to come in standard and XL sizes, features a Soli radar chip to allow more secure facial recognition and gestures, as shown in a YouTube promotion. Photos of the Pixel 4 have circulated in various colors, including a new orange that appeared on a giant Times Square billboard to promote the launch event.

But at a time when companies like Samsung and Microsoft are launching mobile folding devices, Google seems to be keeping the course. The new features are likely to "keep Google in the conversation, but not necessarily advance it," according to Ramón Llamas, director of research at the market research firm IDC.

“The most important thing to see is the camera; it's the Pixel business card, ”said Llamas. "Given the improvements of Samsung and Apple in this area, Google has to offer an experience that is the same or even better than those companies have."

Google has long followed Samsung, Apple and some Chinese companies in participation in the smartphone market, with Pixel occupying less than 1% of the pie worldwide, according to the IDC global quarterly mobile phone tracker. Google doesn't even separate phone sales when reporting quarterly earnings results, but instead groups it into a product category that it calls "other revenue."

The Pixel has been largely maintained as a niche product due to relatively high prices and limited distribution; only available in the USA UU., Exclusively on Verizon. Consumers can buy an unlocked version from Google or another retail store, but they will end up paying the full price. It could be launched soon in more operators, possibly in Sprint, but a global expansion is unlikely as of now.

Google also faces the same challenges as its competitors: a saturated smartphone market and consumers who wait longer to update their old devices that are perfectly fine.

Google could bear lowering the initial price of its flagship model. The Pixel 3 costs $ 799; That compares to the new iPhone 11, which starts at $ 699. But rumors indicate that the Pixel 4 could see an increase in cost this year.

Despite the limitations, the Pixel has accumulated a small but cultured group of followers. “I would say that these are Google fans and fans who have been driving sales; people who understand and want what the Pixel is: a Google phone as intended by Google, ”said Llamas.

The Pixel, which will run Google's latest Android operating system, is free of bloatware from other vendors or operators, resulting in more accessible memory and fewer non-Google applications running in the background.

5G networks in the US UU. they are still in diapers and, at best, they are irregular, but it is rumored that a 5G version of the Pixel 4 could position Google as one of the first users. "It would definitely help their efforts to be [adopted] by more operators worldwide," said Ben Stanton, senior analyst at Canalys. "But it's still early for 5G, so it's not a big deal if Google decides to wait another year."

Beyond the Pixel, Google is expected to display a 13.3-inch touchscreen laptop called Pixelbook Go, a Google Watch and an update of its Nest Mini speaker system. Pixel Buds, your response to Apple AirPods, will probably also be updated, with a longer battery life and a mute function that automatically activates when someone else is talking.

The launch event, which will be broadcast live, will begin at 10:00 am ET.
