Sister Dulce was canonized this Sunday, in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican, and unleashed madness among the Brazilian faithful, one of the most Catholic countries in the world. Dulce, had been a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1988 and is considered “Brazilian Mother Teresa of Calcutta”. Bahía, where Dulce was born, lived hours of excitement after this recognition and celebrated it with a long vigil that ended with songs and fireworks.
