[Seoul 13th Reuters]-The Korean Prime Minister's Office announced that Prime Minister Lee will attend the “Imperial Court of the Imperial Court” on the 13th and 22nd. A meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will also be held during his visit to Japan.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Lee is scheduled to visit Japan on 22-24th and attend a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Abe.
Japan-Korea relations have been in the worst situation since 1965 when diplomatic relations were normalized due to the problem of yuan collection work and the strengthening of Japanese export controls to Korea.
Korean officials expressed hope that Prime Minister Lee's visit to Japan would contribute to improving the relationship.
Prime Minister Lee is an acquaintance who has served as a Tokyo correspondent for Korean media. In September 2018, he met with Prime Minister Abe in Vladivostok, Russia.
