(CNN Spanish) - For the third consecutive year, Spain leads the 2019 Competitive Travel and Tourism Report of the World Economic Forum. And Barcelona is one of the great travel attractions.

However, this Monday, hundreds of travelers could not arrive - or leave - from the capital of Catalonia. The long sentences handed down by the Supreme Court to independent Catalan politicians unleashed demonstrations throughout the city, and the Josep Tarradellas - El Prat Airport was the epicenter of the protest.

Other flights from Latin America continue under itinerary. This is the case of direct Avianca flights from Bogotá and Latam from Sao Paulo and Lima, scheduled to leave on Tuesday and land on Wednesday at El Prat.
