Cuba and Russia reiterated their rejection of all forms of external interference in the affairs of sovereign states.

"Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev discussed during his consultations in Cuba the issues of cooperation between Moscow and Havana in the international arena and in the field of security and the face of external interference in the affairs of sovereign states," Russian Security Council spokesman Yevgeny Anoshin told reporters in Havana.

"Color revolutions remain the main instrument for the West to interfere in the affairs of other countries. Moreover, the ways in which they are implemented are constantly evolving, requiring a continuous modernization of countermeasures," he said.

During the meetings, the two sides discussed the interaction of the two countries in the international arena, as well as exchanging views on the situation in Latin America as a whole and Russian-Cuban cooperation on combating terrorism, combating organized crime, extremism and drug trafficking, Anoshin said.

Patrushev is on a two-day visit to Cuba for security consultations with Cuban authorities.
