The UN Security Council affirmed that the Turkish aggression on Syrian territory undermines the security and stability of the region and leads to increasing the suffering of civilians and the displacement of large numbers of them and impeding the access of humanitarian aid to them.

In a brief statement agreed after a closed-door meeting today, Reuters members expressed concern about the dangers of the humanitarian situation in northeastern Syria due to the aggression and the flight of thousands of ISIS terrorists.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said yesterday that the Turkish aggression had led to the displacement of 160 thousand people from their areas, expressing "deep concern over the escalation of the situation" in northern Syria and "the possibility of terrorists fleeing ISIS."

The ongoing Turkish aggression on Syrian territory in the countryside of al-Hasakah and Raqqa resulted in the death and injury of dozens of civilians, the destruction of the infrastructure of power conversion stations, damage to the electrical networks that feed the stations of Aluk and al-Mabrouka, the theft of grain from silos, the destruction of houses and the targeting of ovens, churches and mosques by brutal shelling of the Turkish occupation forces. To the displacement of tens of thousands of civilians from their areas, threatening a humanitarian disaster.
