Eighty people were injured and 33 arrested on the third night of protests in Catalonia, eastern Spain.
The Associated Press quoted Spanish authorities as saying today that "80 people, including 46 police officers were injured overnight."
Protesters took to the streets on Monday after nine to 13 years in prison for nine separatist leaders who took part in an attempt to secede from Spain in 2017.
The Prime Minister's Office said in a statement that "33 people have been arrested and four demonstrators have been imprisoned so far on charges of disturbing public order."
The province of Catalonia in November 2017 a referendum on secession from Spain, supported by the officials of the region 90 percent of the participants, which prompted the central authorities in Spain to directly control the territory and the dismissal of the separatist government.
