The European Union should adopt joint measures against the Turkish regime in order to stop its aggression on Syrian territory, Czech Prime Minister Andrei Babich said today.
Babich said he would propose at the European summit to be held today and tomorrow in Brussels to adopt such measures in response to the request of the Czech House of Representatives in this regard.
The Czech House of Representatives yesterday condemned the Turkish aggression on Syrian territory and called on Babich to work through the European Union to adopt economic and political measures that force the Turkish regime to stop its aggression Arms to the Turkish regime.
For his part, President of the Czech Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Syria Stanislav Grosbic condemned the aggression "which is a crime against humanity and a gross violation of international law."
In a statement to the SANA correspondent in Prague, Grosbic said that the Turkish aggression comes at a time when the Syrian Arab Army is winning the fight against terrorism in an attempt to prolong the crisis and work to delay the final defeat of the terrorist organizations and their supporters.
In turn, Czech Rep. Radovan Vech strongly condemned the aggression, stressing that no justification can be accepted.
He stressed that the Syrian government's demand for the departure of all foreign forces illegally in its territory is legitimate and said, "If there are any border problems, it is the duty of Turkey to resolve with the Syrian government."
For his part, the European Parliament member for Slovakia Vladimir Belchik that the Turkish aggression on Syrian territory is a threat to stability in the whole region, stressing the need to preserve the unity and sovereignty of these territories.
