(CNN Spanish) - Because “they did not have a condition of regular stay in the country,” Mexico deported 311 people from India from Toluca to New Delhi.

This was reported on Wednesday night by the Mexican National Migration Institute (INM), which said in a statement that the process was carried out "thanks to the excellent communication and coordination with the embassy of the Asian country."

Immigrants, 310 men and one woman, traveled on a charter flight accompanied by federal immigration agents and members of the National Guard.

After concentrating the foreigners at the Migration Station of Acayucán, Veracruz, they were transferred to the Toluca International Airport.

"It should be noted that there is no precedent in the history of the INM - neither in the form, nor in the number of people - of a transatlantic air conduction, such as that carried out on this day," said the agency.
